Denise Williams has lived in Bury all her life. She has always loved Art, studying up to A level. A career in nursing, marriage and children impacted on her ability to commit fully to Art, however she continued to paint when possible. During the early 1990’s she painted many murals under the name Unique Dee-Sign including Planet Play in Heywood .
As her Nursing career and family commitments grew, it became more difficult to continue to paint. In 2015 she started Art classes with John Hassell in Ramsbottom, this gave her the opportunity to develop her skills and spend a blissful 2 hours a week painting and reignited her passion for Art. Denise misses John and his classes very much. Over lockdown Denise took the opportunity to paint more and completed a course at Bolton College. Denise has worked in Hospices for the past 13 years. She has used her passion for Art in previous roles organising art exhibitions of work to promote conversations about end of life care and held a weekly class teaching patients to paint. This exhibition presents her latest work using watercolours and acrylic. The subject matter is the beauty of wildlife, inspired by walking in the local countryside.
