Bury Hospice Lottery – How Our Lottery Works

By signing up to our lottery you could be one of our 13 winners!

For just £1 per entry, you could join our Bury Hospice Lottery, and be in with a chance to win £1000 every week! Our valuable lottery members help to raise essential money for the Hospice. This allows us to continue providing free, high quality care for patients and their families.

How to Play: 

To play, simply complete complete our Standing Order form and return to the Lottery Department, Bury Hospice, Rochdale Old Road, Bury.  BL9 7RG.


Once we receive your Standing Order form we will set up your membership. If you have any questions please call our lottery team on 0161 763 1893.

How it works

  • Each unique number you play costs £1 per week.
  • Our bespoke lottery system selects winning numbers from all of the players who have paid £1 to be entered into the draw.
  • The draw usually takes place every Friday and winners are chosen at random for the guaranteed prizes of one £1,000 prize, one £100 prize, one £50 prize, and ten prizes of £10.
  • There is no need to remember to check your numbers as you don’t need to claim your prize – if you do win a prize we’ll post you out a cheque shortly after the draw takes place.

The winners of each prize are randomly selected by a verified random number generator. The exact likelihood of winning a prize varies each week depending on how many members are in the draw that particular week. However the current likelihood is in the range of a 1 in 420 chance to a 1 in 430 chance.

In the 2020-2021 financial year, the Bury Hospice Lottery generated an income of £356,507. Of this, £179,930 (50.5%) went directly to Bury Hospice, £68,150 (19%) was paid out on lottery prizes, and the remaining £108,427 (30.5%) was spent on administering the lottery.

Lottery Representatives

We are currently running lottery recruitment campaigns with SEC Fundraising Ltd. Our lottery representatives are out and about, knocking on doors and visiting venues, to grow our membership of lottery players.

We are confident that they will always uphold our fundraising integrity and will stop if you say “no” or if there is any worry over the vulnerability of the person they are speaking to.
