Friday, May 23rd until Friday, June 6th
For over 30 years Bury Hospice has provided free palliative and end-of-life care to people in the local community with a life-limiting illness.
The Hospice has commissioned a handcrafted and unique blue iron Forget Me Not flower by the talented team at the British Ironworks that can be dedicated in memory of someone special, or can be purchased to show support for the work the Hospice does for patients and their families across Bury. Anyone can dedicate a flower, you don’t have to have experienced our care first hand at the Hospice.
Memories stay with us forever and we hope our Forget Me Not Appeal will help you remember and celebrate the lives of someone special. Every flower tells a personal story, so whether you are making a dedication in memory of a loved one or as a way of supporting the Hospice, every donation will make a difference to people in our local community.
We would like to invite you to join us in remembering your loved one through our Forget Me Not Appeal.
All of the flowers dedicated will be on display around the pond within the grounds of the Hospice from Friday, May 23rd until Friday, June 6th, where you will be able to view them. You will also receive the flower as a colourful keepsake which you will be able to collect after the display has ended.
Each Forget Me Not flower is available for a minimum donation of £25 each. Flowers can be purchased via https://forgetmenot2025.dedicationpage.org/ or by calling the fundraising office on 0161 797 1748. Everyone who dedicates a flower will also receive a personalised dedication card.
Running alongside Bury Hospice’s Forget Me Not Appeal, we have launched a competition for children to come up with their creations for the front of the Forget Me Not dedication cards.
We would like youngsters to send in their designs of a Forget Me Not flower. The card can be made using paints, coloured pencils, or felt-tip pens. There are two age groups, four to seven and eight to 11. There will be fantastic prizes for the winners and runners-up of each category and the overall winner will have their card turned into a dedication card, which will be sent out to everyone who dedicates a Forget Me Not.
To enter, all the children need to do is draw a design for the front of the card in the template. Once the children have finished their cards, fill in the details on the form and send it to Bury Hospice Design a Card, c/o Bury Hospice, Rochdale Old Road, Bury, BL9 7RG, by Monday, March 31st.
