Multi-award-winning executive producer and founder of Quay Street Productions, Nicola Shindler becomes Bury Hospice ambassador

Multi-award-winning executive producer and founder of Quay Street Productions, Nicola Shindler has become Bury Hospice’s latest ambassador.

Renowned for her relationships with writers, Nicola has worked with an array of the UK’s most prolific and exciting writing talent including Russell T Davies, Matthew Barry, Megan Gallagher, Sally Wainwright, Lenny Henry, Paul Abbott, Dan Sefton, Tony Marchant, Amelia Bullmore, Danny Brocklehurst, Matt Greenhalgh and Sarah Solemani, on series starring some of the world’s leading on-screen names.

In 2019, Nicola was awarded an OBE and took home one of BAFTA’s highest honours, the Special Award, for her services to British Broadcasting.

Prior to launching Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios) in 2021, Nicola founded RED Production Company in 1998, where she was Chief Executive for 22 years, and she also previously served as chief executive and chief creative officer at StudioCanal UK.

Nicola said: “I am amazed by Bury Hospice’s incredible work within the community of Bury. Bury Hospice is a charity and relies on upon donations to keep their doors open. They work so hard to raise money, and stage fabulous events that are fun as well as fundraisers. I am particularly interested in supporting their Sponsor a Nurse campaign to help raise funds for the vital nursing care they provide for people across Bury.”

“Hopefully, as an ambassador my profile will encourage people to get involved and support the hospice. It really is a fantastic place and it was a real eye opener to find out all the amazing services that are on offer. A lot of people think the hospice only cares for people staying in the Inpatient Unit for palliative care, but the Community Outreach Team, provides support to patients in their own homes, plus Outpatient Christie and MND Clinics and Bereavement Support Services - which are all fantastic.”

“It’s typical in Bury that everyone knows someone who has been supported by the hospice. I want to help make people aware of the incredible work that goes on.”

Stuart Richardson, Bury Hospice CEO said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Nicola as an official ambassador for Bury Hospice. Nicola is keen to raise the profile of the hospice and the vital care and support it provides for local people when they need it most. With the current financial situation and rising costs we are struggling for funds and we can’t afford for Bury Hospice not to be here for the community.”
