Legacy Giving

Leave a Gift in Your Will

Together we can continue to make a lasting difference

A Promise of Care That Lives On

When someone in Bury needs us, we're there. And this is, in part, because someone else remembered us in their will. Legacy gifts in wills form a key part of the ongoing funding of Bury Hospice, helping us to continue to provide vital services across the borough. Without them, we might lose our ability to deliver end-of-life care to everyone who needs it.

Hospice care is free at the point of use. But, unlike the NHS, it is not fully state funded. While hospices across the UK receive some government funding, more than £1 billion of the £1.6 billion they need each year comes from generous donors.

The truth is, with rising costs and growing demand for hospice services, these gifts are more important to us than ever. Leaving a gift in your will can help us to plan ahead and could fund important development work, in addition to extending our core services.

Love That Lasts Beyond a Lifetime

Your gift ensures that when your neighbour gets that diagnosis, when a local family faces the unthinkable, when someone you know needs dignity and comfort — we're here. Not just today, but for generations to come.

  • Care for local families

  • Protect your loved ones

  • Lasting community impact

  • Support future hospice care

  • Improve hospice facilities

  • Fund vital services

  • Tax benefits

  • Back a cause you love

Making a will is relatively easy and probably one of the most important things you can do to ensure your wishes will be carried out, ensuring your family and loved ones are taken care of, in the way that you would like. There can also be tax advantages to remembering a charity such as Bury Hospice in your will.

In the past, legacies have helped to improve our buildings and gardens, they’ve also helped make substantial contributions towards the annual £4.4m running costs. For more than 30 years, Bury Hospice has provided a range of care and support services to anyone affected by a life-limiting illness. This comes in many forms, from giving out medication, to taking a patient for a gentle stroll through the gardens. Our nursing is not only about the physical and medical care, but also the compassionate and holistic support patients and their loved ones need.

We are privileged to provide this care and support for local people, and our aim is to be there for everyone who needs us, now and in the future.

We can only provide this specialist care, thanks to the donations and fundraising that supports our work; gifts in wills are a vital part of this. Many people choose to support Bury Hospice in this way, in the knowledge that they will be helping to make a lasting difference in the lives of local people. It can also be a wonderful opportunity to support a cause you are passionate about.

Together, we can help hospice care live on for all, for now, forever.
