Bury Hospice Golf Day Another Huge Success

It was a fun and busy day out on the Bury Golf Club green on Friday 4th July, as 30 teams engaged in friendly competition to raise funds for Bury Hospice.

The Golf Day was headline sponsored by Circle Leasing this year, while Olympic Construction kindly sponsored the golf holes entirely.

Many returning teams from previous years joined the competition, as well as many new ones.

The golfers had the chance to attempt to beat the professional, James Rowlands, in a nearest the pin competition, as well as take part in the chipping contest, and potentially get lucky with the prize-filled raffle.

Golf Day organiser, Nina Camplin, Senior Corporate Fundraiser at Bury Hospice, said: “The venue was lovely, the food was delicious, and everybody was in a great frame of mind."

“The day warmed my heart, and I left, at the end of the day, with a big smile on my face because everybody had a lovely time.”

Several individual and corporate volunteers supported the coordination of the day.

At the clubhouse, Bury Hospice trustee, Stuart Page, met and thanked the supportive players for their huge joint effort, which saw them collectively raise more than £15,000.

This staggering sum could not have been achieved without donations from our generous supporters who took part on the day and behind the scenes – which we truly appreciate.

All funds raised will go towards supporting patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care, as well their families.

Thank you to Bury Golf Club, whose grounds team helpfully knocked in the flag poles into all 18 holes and extended a warm welcome to us and the playing teams.

We are thrilled that this year’s event was yet another huge success and we are excited to see that there are already several names down on the list for next year’s Golf Day!
