Bury Hospice is recapturing the buzzing spirit of Bury’s old clubbing scene at Back In The Day, our first day clubbing event.
All clubbers are invited to have some fun during the afternoon, listening to the best club anthems while dancing with friends, just as you likely did back in the day.
Rachel Krafft, Senior Community Fundraiser at Bury Hospice, said: “I might be a woman of a certain age who had fun back in the day, but now I would like to enjoy myself, just like I did then, but be back in bed or have my pyjamas on by the time The 1% Club is on the telly, on a Saturday night.”
Back In The Day is held in collaboration with The Den, thanks to club owner, Daniel Healey, and Ged Birch of Decade of Dance Music and Club Events Promotion, who’ll be playing all the best tunes throughout the afternoon.
The pair have come together to generously donate the use of the club and all DJ services. We were absolutely blown away when we first saw the brand new music, lighting, and LED systems installed at the Den, which is one of the leading performance spaces in town.

We are proud to announce that the Back In The Day VIP booths (named after some of Bury’s beloved night spots: Sol Viva, Rebecca’s and Benny’s), have already sold out. General admission tickets are still available, although they are selling very fast.
On the day, there will be a special LED light performance from The Flaming Psychotics and you’ll be able to purchase a range of fun party accessories to complement your outfit, with all funds supporting the vital work of Bury Hospice.
Gabrielle Royle, Community Fundraiser at Bury Hospice, said: “I can’t wait, we’ve nearly sold out the event altogether with less than 50 tickets left.”
“We’re just buzzing for it, and it seems like everyone else is too.”

As a former Roxy girl, who used to spend many a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night on the dancefloor, Rachel is particularly excited to relive her clubbing memories at Back In The Day.
She said: “I think back to Monty’s and Rebecca’s, and those days were really my formative years. Most of my friends met each other in the Roxy.”
“I remember being stood on the Rock the day that the Roxy was demolished, and all of the memories came flooding back. It was a really nostalgic feeling of when Bury had clubs – it was a different time and a different culture of how we used to socialise.”
“To this day, the debate of ‘Roxy or Sol Viva’ (which the former nightspot was later renamed), still stands.”
Back In The Day is open to anyone wanting to revisit those special moments when you’d be in the club on a night when the clocks went back, so you got an extra hour on the dancefloor, or when your favourite tracks would set the right mood, seeing you through the week ahead.
Those good times will return at Back In The Day on Saturday 20th September at the Den, where you’ll experience a night out and a night in, on the same day.
