Bury Hospice Ranked ‘Good’ in Care Quality Report

National report highlights exceptional care at Bury Hospice

Bury Hospice is very proud to announce that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has formally declared that the hospice has retained its rating of ‘good’ for all five of the CQC domains and overall.

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and safety in England that inspects the quality of care available across providers, including, hospices, hospitals, and clinics.

The overall rating of the hospice has remained as ‘good’ following the CQC inspection which took place last summer.

The resulting report highlights several key areas of excellence in the care we provide across the five care domains: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led.

The inspectors observed that Bury Hospice consistently delivers high-quality, compassionate care, and that people who use our services and their families consistently praised the skills, kindness, and dedication of our teams.

The report also commended our focus on patient-centred care, including effective pain management, clear communication, and involving people in decisions about their care.

Our bereavement and family support services were also recognised for their significant positive impact on families coping with loss.

The vision at Bury Hospice is to ensure all patients and families in Bury receive compassionate and outstanding care throughout their palliative and end-of-life experience.

The recent rating is a fantastic achievement because it highlights that Bury Hospice has a strong patient focus, provides exceptional patient care, and offers bereavement support services which are highly valued by our local community.

It also proves that the strategic focus, over the past few years, of ensuring the hospice has strong foundations in place, has been successful.

Life enhancing patient care is at the heart of everything Bury Hospice does, and the ‘good’ rating puts the hospice in a great position to start the New Year.
