Hit one-man comedy show comes to town

Fresh from hurling himself out of an aeroplane at 15,000ft in support of Bury Hospice (on 30th Aug), Dr Kevin Jones will now be taking to the stage at Theatre Royal, Ramsbottom, on Saturday 18th October, to perform his not-to-be-missed one man show, Medicine at the Fringe.

After raising more than £5000 for the hospice by undertaking the thrilling tandem skydive, Dr Kevin’s feet will be planted firmly on the stage, the place he loves most, for what will probably be (but not certainly) his last performance.

Sky high

Bury Hospice trustee and former consultant physician at Royal Bolton Hospice, Dr Kevin, is known as Britain’s Funniest Doctor, having been a comedy performer for more than 30 years.

Now the much-loved comedian brings Medicine at the Fringe back to Bury, having previously sold out the Royal Albert Hall, the Met, and of course Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with the popular show.

Dr Kevin has performed with the likes of comedy heavyweights, including: Scott Bennett, and Justin Moorhouse, who, legend has it, said that following Dr Kevin on stage is like ‘going to the gym when Arnold Schwarzenegger has just been in.’

With such high praise from his comedy peers, and with audience reviews calling Medicine at the Fringe ‘the funniest thing I’ve seen for years,’ it’s no wonder that tickets for the October show are in high demand.

Earlier this year, Dr Kevin hosted an audience with comedian, quizmaster, and TV star, Paul Sinha, who won the hearts of a sold-out Bury crowd, back in May.

Paul discussed his life and career, brilliantly blending humour with the more intimate moments, as Dr Kevin guided the star (of ITV’s, hit show, The Chase) through the conversation.

Now, Dr Kevin brings his own style of comedic fun to Ramsbottom for one night only.

He said: “The show will be funny and incredibly interesting, with some rude bits.”
