Award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Victoria Derbyshire becomes Bury Hospice’s ambassador

Award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Victoria Derbyshire has become the latest ambassador for Bury Hospice.

The host of the BBC’s flagship Newsnight programme was born in Bury and educated at Bury Grammar School. 

Two years ago she appeared on the Channel 5 show No Place Like Home and revisited Bury, Ramsbottom and Rochdale where she explored her family’s history and reconnected with part of her childhood.

Victoria said: “I am really delighted to become an ambassador for Bury Hospice. 

The staff provide outstanding care for those who need it at the end of their lives, and incredible support for families at the most difficult of times. 

As a Bury woman, I’m honoured to be an advocate for such an incredible charity serving its local community."

As a high-profile ambassador, Victoria will raise awareness of Bury Hospice, promoting the charity’s important mission to continue meeting the needs of people with life-limiting illnesses.
