More than 100 golfers of mixed abilities participated in the annual Bury Hospice Golf Day on Friday, 5th July, making it a roaring success.
31 teams, formed mostly from local corporate organisations, got together for a bit of friendly competition at Bury Golf Club in Unsworth, to play rounds of golf in support of our worthy cause.
It was a fun-filled day which included a chipping contest, a silent auction, and a raffle with an array of fantastic prizes which were kindly donated to the hospice.
The golfers also had the opportunity to challenge themselves by attempting to beat James Rowlands, the professional golfer, which a fair few actually did.
The sun shone down on the players, perfectly showcasing the 18-semi moorland golf course in all its glory.
The teams played their rounds in staggered starts, with the final team of the day being that of the Bury Golf Club Captains.
Sue Warrington, Lady Vice Captain, said: “It was such a lovely day. Thank you for inviting us Bury Golf Club Captains and Vice Captains to join in the event”.
“We had an amazing day and the club is very happy to support such a worthwhile local charity which serves our community so brilliantly.”
The date for next year’s Golf Day will be announced in the coming weeks.
