Community Fundraiser braves hot coals for Bury Hospice
Rachel Krafft, Community Fundraiser at Bury Hospice is just one of the members of staff who will be taking on the 2024 fire walk, which will be held at Woodbank Cricket Club on Friday, 22nd March.
Rachel organised the inaugural fire walk last year, and was inspired to give it a go; this time, her daughter Emily, 16, will walk the fiery path too.
Both Rachel and Emily are excited to take on the challenge and are encouraging others to also take their brave steps across the coals.

Rachel said: “I get to give a little bit back and sit on the other side of the fence by putting myself out there and doing something I wouldn’t normally do.”
Bury Hospice has to raise £4 million a year to keep its services going, of which £3.5 million needs to be raised by supporters.
This year’s Firewalkers are contributing to making a huge difference that will impact many lives of local people who require specialised palliative and end-of-life care.
Event host, Firewalk UK, will be guiding participants through the fire walk ensuring the highest levels of safety and fun on the night, there will also be music, food and a fantastic atmosphere.
“Come and give it a go; the sense of achievement after doing is just going to be amazing,” said Rachel.
