Bury Hospice Lottery and Summer Raffle Is Helping the Good Cause

When you see the difference the compassionate care makes to Bury Hospice patients and their families, it is easy to understand what drives our income generation teams which are made up of fundraising, retail and lottery.

Led by our director of income generation and marketing, Lara Partridge, the team works tirelessly to build relationships, raise awareness and organise events to secure funding.

The Bury Hospice Lottery, previously known as Red Rose Lottery was established in 1994.

It currently has over 7,000 members who play the lottery each week with a chance of winning £1,000.

The lottery is an excellent income generator for the Hospice and players can make such a difference for only £1 a week.

Lottery players can round up their monthly direct debit of £4.34 to £5 per number per month and make their donation go further with our Keep the Change option. The additional 66p will be treated as a donation to Bury Hospice and can also be gift aided - making it worth an extra 25%. 

Giving a few pounds a month may not seem a lot but collectively our lottery members helped generate an income of £361,121 last year.

Since its inception, our lottery members have been critical in ensuring the Hospice has a steady income stream, enabling us to provide vital care and support to our patients and their families.

We have two lottery representatives Jean Avery and Chris Harding who are regularly out canvassing across the borough to help grow our membership of lottery players.

We also arrange special draws each year during the summer and at Christmas.

Our first Ticketless Summer Raffle has just launched and will be arriving on the doorsteps of our supporters next week.

We are inviting everyone to support the work of the Hospice by taking part in the raffle, giving you the chance to win fantastic cash prizes including a first prize of £2,000. Last year’s Summer Raffle generated £21,766.
