Walk in Remembrance

Still time to sign up for the Bury Hospice Memory Walk 2023!

Bury Hospice is inviting those not yet signed up to take part in the 2023 Memory Walk to get in touch as spaces are still currently available.

You can support the Hospice by participating in the 4.5 mile walk which sets off from Whitefield Park at 4.00pm, passes through the centre of town, and ends at Bury Hospice on Saturday, 30th September.

Those seeking a shorter route will be able to join the second leg of the course - a distance of approximately 1.5 miles, which sets of from off from Unsworth Funeral Directors in the town centre.

All participants will have the opportunity to write a meaningful tribute to a loved one on a paper lantern, the materials of which will be provided.

It costs £15 to take part in the 2023 Memory Walk. All who sign up will receive a Bury Hospice T-shirt, a Memory Walk label and materials to create a lantern and a goody bag at the end of the walk. It is hoped that in return all participating adults raise at least £50.00 each to help Bury Hospice support its excellent care and support services for its patients and their families.

Children are also invited to take part in the remembrance walk, provided they are accompanied by an adult. Those aged under 16 can sign up for £5.00 and are encouraged to raise as near to £20.00 as possible.

Dale Mulgrew, Events Fundraiser at Bury Hospice, said: “This is a perfect opportunity for you to walk in memory of a loved one - it raises money for a valuable service which Bury greatly needs.”
